Text Box: The Eddystone Police Dept. just finished the Buckle Up traffic enforcement detail that has been advertised on television for several weeks. The enforcement period ran from 5/23/11 to 6/12/11 and was paid for by the State of PA. During the enforcement Eddystone Police dedicated 50 hours towards enforcement. There were 106 contacts made, 81 speeding citations issued and 35 other citations issued for various motor vehicle violations. We look forward to continuing to keep the streets of Eddystone safe from traffic violators.

Text Box: On 5/2/11 @ 16:17 Hrs. Police were called to Bennett Motors on SR 291for a theft in progress. A male was observed trespassing on the property and was taking parts off of a truck tractor. The male was approached by a worker and fled in a red pickup truck. The male actor stole two batteries and cut the cables. The incident is currently being investigated. Text Box: On 5/8/11 @ 21:10 Hrs. Police were called to the 1100 block of Johnson St. in the City of Chester to assist with a triple shooting. One of the victims later died at the hospital. Eddystone Police assisted with crowd control and securing the crime scene. Text Box: On 5/1/11 Police were called to the 200 block of Crum Creek Drive in Woodlyn to assist Ridley Twp. P.D. on a burglary in progress call. When Police arrived they found a male and female hiding in a residence that they did not have permission to be in. They were both arrested and charged with burglary by Ridley Twp. Police. Text Box: On 5/4/11 @ 14:30 Hrs. Police were called to the 200 block of Lexington Ave. for a theft discovered. The male resident said that someone had stolen his black Century safe which contained $7,000.00 inside. There was no forced entry to the residence. The male said that one of his friends may have stolen the safe. The incident is currently being investigated.

Text Box: On 5/6/11 @ 21:43 Hrs. Police observed a male Eddystone resident driving an Oldsmobile. The male was known to have a suspended license. He was stopped by Police and found to be in possession of pills that did not belong to him. The pills were found to be Oxycodone which is a controlled substance. The male was arrested and charged with drug possession.

The male Darby resident was given some field sobriety tests and failed. He was arrested for DUI and was found to have 5 prior convictions for DUI on his record. Text Box: On 5/9/11 @ 16:09 Hrs. Police were called to the 1200 block of Lawrence Ave. for an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The male resident said that his son took his Honda without permission and hasn’t been seen in 2 days. He believes that his son went missing. The incident is currently being investigated.

ARRESTED
Text Box: On 5/12/11 @ 09:40 Hrs. Police were called to the Wal-Mart for a male shoplifter in custody. The male New Jersey resident was observed stealing a $15.00 pair of sun glasses. He was arrested and charged with retail theft. He was also found to have an active bench warrant for his arrest out of Lebanon County, PA. He was later remanded to the County Prison to await transport to Lebanon County.

The vehicle was stopped and the passenger was observed throwing a contained out of the window as the Officer approached. Inside of the container were several pills that were found to be a controlled substance. The male passenger was arrested and charged with drug possession and tampering with evidence. The driver was cited for speeding.
