Text Box: On 12/31/09 The Eddystone Police Dept. finished Wave 4 of their last aggressive driving detail for 2009. There were 184 contacts made, 73 speeding citations issued, 83 citations written for various traffic violations, 3 felony arrests, 3 DUI arrests, 7 drug arrests, 11 warrant arrests and 24 other arrests. There was a total of 125 hours contributed to the enforcement efforts. We look forward to working with the State in 2010 and will continue to keep the streets of Eddystone safe from aggressive drivers.

Text Box: 01/01/10 @ 12:11 Hrs. Police received a call for a discovered burglary at the Eddystone Produce on Chester Pike. Police found a broken window and numerous items inside thrown around. There was some money taken from inside of the business. The incident is currently being investigated. Text Box: On 1/3/10 @ 12:22 Hrs. Police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Saville Ave. for vandalism to a vehicle. The male resident said he observed a male in his yard and later found that the male had keyed his brand new car. The male suspect was cited for several violations and will have to pay for restitution to the car owner.

When Police arrived they found a father and son shooting airsoft rifles and setting off firecrackers. She was cited for public drunkenness and transported home by her husband. Text Box: On 1/4/10 @ 13:17 Hrs. Police were called to the Wal-Mart for a male shoplifter in custody. The male Philadelphia resident was observed stealing $38.00 worth of DVD movies. He was arrested and charged with retail theft. Text Box: On 1/5/10 @ 10:00 Hrs. Police received a call to respond to headquarters for a male who was wanted on a warrant. The male Virginia resident was wanted by Eddystone for numerous sex crimes and wanted to turn himself in. He was arrested and transported to District Court for arraignment.

Text Box: On 1/3/10 @ 05:10 Hrs. Police were called to assist Ridley Twp. P.D. with a barricaded suicidal male inside of a home on Fairview Rd. The male was armed with a handgun and threatening to kill himself. A perimeter was established and after a short time the male was talked out of the house by Police without incident. He was taken to Crozer Crisis Center for evaluation. Text Box: On 1/5/10 @ 18:30 Hrs. Police were called to the Wal-Mart for a male shoplifter in custody. The male New York City resident was observed stealing $275.00 worth of over the counter medications. He was with another male who fled the scene prior to Police arrival. The male was arrested and charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property. Text Box: On 1/4/10 @ 23:15 Hrs. Police received a call from dispatch advising that Philadelphia P.D. was chasing a black Chrysler on SR 291 towards Eddystone. The vehicle was being followed by Philadelphia’s Air Unit and the driver was wanted for a homicide. A felony car stop was conducted at SR 291 & Saville Ave. The male driver was taken into custody without incident and turned over to Philadelphia P.D.

Text Box: On 1/3/10 @ 16:12 Hrs. Police were called to an apartment in the 1200 block of E. 9th St. for a building fire. When Police arrived they found that a male resident had burned some food on the stove, causing some smoke conditions in the building. The Fire Dept. responded and cleared out the smoke. Text Box: On 1/7/10 @ 10:18 Hrs. Police were called to the Wal-Mart for a male shoplifter in custody. The male Linwood resident was observed stealing $84.00 worth of DVD movies. He was arrested and charged with retail theft.
