WELCOME

Welcome to the internet home of the Eddystone Police Department. Our intention when we designed this web site was to make it informative, useful and hopefully, fun. It is also our intention to update this site regularly with information about our department, your community and some items of general interest.

OVERNIGHT PARKING

Every vehicle that parks on the street in the Borough of Eddystone must have an Eddystone parking permit on their vehicle. The permits are free and can be obtained at the Eddystone Police station Mon.-Fri. between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. In order to obtain a parking permit your vehicle must be registered in the Borough. “There will be no exceptions” Overnight guests may call the overnight parking number at 610-874-1762. Overnight parking will be strictly enforced between the hours of 2 am - 6 am. Parking stickers must be placed on the rear window or rear bumper.

 REPORTS

Police reports and accident reports may be obtained from Mon. to Fri. between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Release of any reports must be approved by the Chief of Police. There will be a fee of $15.00 charged for all reports. Please make arrangements to call ahead to obtain a copy. Stopping by the station without making arrangements may cause a delay.

FINGERPRINTING

Anyone who needs to be fingerprinted for employment may do so by calling ahead and making an appointment. The fee for fingerprinting is $15.00. Please bring an applicant fingerprint card and your State photo license or identification card.

LOCAL BACKGROUND CHECKS

Any organization wanting a local background check on someone must have an authorization waiver signed by the person being checked. The processing fee for the background check is $15.00.

BOROUGH BUSINESSES

Please make sure you provide your emergency contact information with the Police Department for your business. We recommend updating with us yearly unless your contacts have not changed. If you need a copy of our emergency contact form please click on the hyperlink.

NEW VEHICLE LAWS

There are two new laws that have been passed that people may not be aware of. VC: 4302-A3 Period for Requiring Lighted Lamps states that anytime a vehicle’s windshield wipers are in continuous or intermittent use due to rain, snow, sleet or mist your headlights must be on. VC:3327-A Duty of Driver in Emergency Response Area states that you must pass in a lane not adjacent to the emergency response area. This is also called the new “Move Over” law. An example is if a Police Officer has someone stopped in the right lane of Chester Pike or SR 291 a driver must move over to the next lane and not partially drive in the right lane. Several Police Officers have been hit or killed because people drive too close to the Police car not realizing they are endangering the safety of Officers. This law also covers all other emergency service responders including fire trucks and ambulances, etc. These laws can be read word for word on the Dept. of Motor Vehicles website which is located in the helpful links section of this website.
