WELCOME

Welcome to the internet home of the Eddystone Police Department. Our intention when we designed this web site was to make it informative, useful, and hopefully fun. It is also our intention to update this site regularly with information about our department, your community and some items of general interest.

OVERNIGHT PARKING

Every vehicle that parks on the street in the Borough of Eddystone must have an Eddystone parking permit on their vehicle. The permits are free and can be obtained at the Eddystone Police Department, Mon.-Fri. between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. In order to obtain a parking permit your vehicle must be registered in the Borough. “There will be no exceptions” Overnight guests may call the overnight parking number at 610-874-1762. Overnight parking will be strictly enforced between the hours of 2 am - 6 am. Parking stickers must be placed on the outside rear window or rear bumper. If you need a copy of our Overnight Permit Application please click on the hyperlink. A copy of the overnight parking permit procedures may be obtained from the Police secretary. Permits are free to residents only! Non-residents may apply for a temporary permit for a fee.

 REPORTS

Police reports and accident reports may be obtained from Mon. to Fri. between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Release of any reports must be approved by the Chief of Police. There will be a fee of $15.00 charged for all reports. Please make arrangements to call ahead to obtain a copy. Stopping by the station without making arrangements may cause a delay.

FINGERPRINTING

Anyone who needs to be fingerprinted for employment may do so by calling ahead and making an appointment. The fee for fingerprinting is $15.00. Please bring an applicant fingerprint card and your State photo license or identification card.

LOCAL BACKGROUND CHECKS

Any organization wanting a local background check on someone must have an authorization waiver signed by the person being checked. The processing fee for the background check is $15.00. 

BOROUGH BUSINESSES

Please make sure you provide your emergency contact information with the Police Department for your business. We recommend updating with us yearly unless your contacts have not changed. If you need a copy of our emergency contact form please click on the hyperlink.

RESIDENTS

If you are going away on vacation and would like the Police to keep an eye out on your home please let us know. If you need a copy of our vacation form please click on the hyperlink, print it out, and drop it off at the station.

NEW VEHICLE LAWS

There are some new changes to the seat belt laws. Here is a brief summary.

Every occupant under 4 yrs. old must be in a safety seat. This is a primary violation.

Every occupant 4 yrs.— 8 yrs. must be in a booster seat. Exceptions to the booster seat are if your child is over 80 lbs. or taller than 57 inches. The child must still wear a seatbelt. This is a primary violation. (new law)

Every occupant 8 yrs.— 17 yrs. old must be in a seat belt. This is a primary violation. (new law)

A junior operator may have no more passengers than there are seat belts. This is a primary violation. (new law)

Every driver and front seat passenger 18 yrs. old and older must be in a seat belt. This is a secondary violation.

The fines range from $10.00 to $75.00 plus court costs. A total for a traffic citation can amount to well over $100.00.

On Wednesday 5/9/12 Police will be honoring several fallen Officers from Delaware County that gave their lives while serving their communities. The service will be held at Rose Tree Park in Upper Providence, PA. Please come out and show support for those who have died.
